How to Purchase a Nano Factory Token
To get your hands on one of the original 2,500 MicroBuddies, including a chance at getting one of only 30 Exalted MicroBuddies, you’ll need to purchase a Nano Factory Token during the Genesis Event, which begins when the timer on https://microbuddies.io hits zero! Here’s how!
Step 1: Install MetaMask: https://metamask.io
MetaMask is an extension for your web browser that allows you to create an Ethereum wallet and interact with decentralized applications (Dapps) like MicroBuddies.
If you’re new to MetaMask, this quick, two minute video from MetaMask will get you setup:
Step 2: Buy some Ethereum
Nano Factory Tokens will be available to early adopters for 0.05 ETH (Ethereum). You’ll also need some ETH to pay the transaction fee charged by the Ethereum network, which can vary depending on how much traffic there is globally (MetaMask will automatically suggest the fee to pay at time of purchase).
There are many ways to acquire ETH. If you open your Metamask extension in your browser, there is a “Buy” button next to “Send” and “Swap”. You can also use an exchange, such as Coinbase (US) or Binance (international).
Note: If you attempt to buy a Nano Factory Token and do not have enough ETH, MetaMask will show you an inaccurate (and often very high) network fee. The fee for purchasing a Nano Factory Token should not exceed 0.01 ETH unless there is serious network congestion.
Step 3: Send Ethereum to your MetaMask wallet
If you did not purchase ETH directly into your MetaMask wallet with the buy button, you will need to send the ETH to your MetaMask.
For Coinbase:
- Click the “Send/Receive” button at the top right of the screen.
- Choose “Ethereum” under “Pay with”.
- Enter the amount you wish to send, or optionally click “Send all”.
- In the “To” field, paste your MetaMask address, which can be copied to your clipboard by opening the extension and clicking on your account name. It should begin with “0x”.
- Select continue, make sure you are okay with the network fee and final send amount, and then send! Once your transaction has been confirmed on the Ethereum blockchain, it will show up in your MetaMask wallet and you will be all set!
Step 4: Connect your wallet to MicroBuddies
When the countdown timer reaches zero on the MicroBuddies website, a “connect wallet” button will show up in its place.
Tip: Make sure you are logged in to MetaMask by clicking the extension in the upper right of your browser and entering the password you set.
Step 5: Purchase a Nano Factory Token!
Now that you’re all setup, you’ll see a button on the MicroBuddies website that reads, “Buy 1 Nano Factory Token”. Click that and you’ll get a MetaMask pop up which contains the 0.05 ETH price, plus any network fees. The final step is to click “Confirm”, and when the transaction is done processing you will receive a Nano Factory Token!
Tip: Advanced users can adjust the gas price (gwei) to ensure their transaction is processed as quickly as they wish. Click here to view currently recommended gas prices from ETH Gas Station.
(Optional) Step 6: View your Nano Factory Token(s) in MetaMask
Up to three Nano Factory tokens may be purchased per wallet address (yes, it is possible to add multiple wallet addresses in MetaMask). If you would like to view your Nano Factory Tokens:
- Open your MetaMask extension.
- Scroll to the bottom and select “Add Token”.
- Select “Custom Token” at the top of the page.
- Under “Token Contract Address” enter the contract address for Nano Factory Token: 0x9413a78a11ad4479dd1e89cbcab6f6e601ad1c8c
- The rest of the field should automatically populate. Now, click “next”, followed by “Add Tokens”.
Done! You are now the proud owner of one of a maximum of 2,500 Nano Factory Token(s)! Welcome to the MicroBuddies history books :)
